Boris becomes PM after Greenpeace try to block route to the Queen/

BORIS JOHNSON HAD TO DODGE A HUMAN CHAIN OF PROTESTERS ON HIS WAY TO MEET THE QUEEN.
The Greenpeace activists linked arms across The Mall and unfolded a ‘Climate Emergency’ banner before police officers stepped in.

They were taken out just moments before Mr Johnson’s car arrived, sending it on a diversion around the protesters.

Before his historic moment with Her Majesty, he had to wait for Theresa May to formally resign in a private meeting in Buckingham Palace.

He can then take up the post and officially become the leader of the country.

Mr Johnson will become the 14th prime minister to serve the Queen, who first swore in one of Mr Johnson’s political idols – Sir Winston Churchill.

After Mr Johnson meets the Queen, he will deliver his first speech as prime minister outside 10 Downing Street.

He will then spend the next few days shaping his Cabinet and close advisers. It will include a recall to the cabinet for Priti Patel, an ardent Brexiteer who was forced by Mrs May to resign as international development secretary over unauthorised contacts with Israeli officials.

But uncertainty surrounds the future of Mr Johnson’s defeated leadership rival Jeremy Hunt after he reportedly turned down a demotion from Foreign Secretary to Defence Secretary.
