Two dogs sacrificed themselves to stop
a Deadly Cobra from going into a room where a one-year-old slept inside.
The brave pets fought the lethal reptile by baby Skye’s room,
outside the family home in Kidapawan City, the Philippines.
Incredible CCTV showed Moxie, a two-year-old white dachshund,
immediately rushing over and pawing at the snake as it neared the property.
The other dog Miley, aged four, then launched into a frenzied
defence and picked up the dangerous monacled cobra in her jaws.
Desperate to get away, the cobra made a beeline for the front door
but the dogs worked together to move it away from the house.
The determined guard dogs bit into the animal’s tail and dragged
the snake back out onto the road.
After a two-minute tussle, the snake stopped moving and died from
its injuries.
But sadly moments later, Miley also died from her injuries, having
been bitten by the cobra several times.
The snake is one of the most venomous in the world. Moxie luckily
survived the attack but was left blind after being hit by the snake’s sprayed
venom.
Skye’s father, Jaime Selim, said he and wife Pauie were at work
during the incident.
His daughter had been sleeping at home with a babysitter, who then
reviewed the CCTV footage to see what had happened.
Jaime said he was shocked
by the clip, adding that he and Pauie were ‘so proud of the dogs’. He said: ‘I
can’t thank my dogs enough for protecting my baby Skye.’
